It would probably. Seems to me that Seven is far better than Vista and less resource hungry.
First I want to make it clear that my Win 7 x64 desktop computer is a 6X improvement over my Vista x32 laptop but 6.0.6000 laptop does boot up and run for 1/2 the RAM allocation that the 6.1.7600 desktop does. I realize that you can't directly compare the two, but I just wanted to mention that Vista can run lite if kept lean and tweaked properly...

How much of a day to day performance boost did you notice? Was it worth the money over a HDD? I am thinking about getting one.
