There's mine!

I had a download on when I did this, so perhaps my hard disk score could be higher?
Anyway, 6.0 is good enough. It's a WD Caviar Green Power, so it's just 5400 rpm. But it appears to perform pretty good. And it's really, really quiet too.

Win 7 has issues with my Logitech keyboard so the print screen isn't working. My score is 5.9 and it's due to my memory, 1066, and my hard drive.

No, the Logitech drivers won't load, even in the compatibility mode. Except for print screen, all the other keys work fine with the Win 7 driver. Hey it's a beta, I expect that. I am having tons of fun marveling at how well this OS works! I have only had to reinstall twice in 3 weeks, and the crashes were my own fault.

Opps, the memory is a typo, it's 1066.

According to some reviews in net i came to know than nvidia 8600gt is more superior and powerful than ATI 2600 HD.. But some people in this forum using ATi 2600 HD are getting better WEI scores. I'm having 8600 gt but my score never goes beyond 4.9. Any one having similar problem with this card?

My 2600XT was a 5.2 for 3D/gaming. I haven't been able to test it w/ the HD 4850 because I keep getting a driver error.

I have a question?? My 64-bit Vista Ultimate Primary Hardisk WEI Score is 5.3 and the 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate WEI Hardisk score is 1.9 -- On the Same Hardisk because I have a dual boot setup, with same RAM & same drivers. Any idea why? Can this be changed. Windows 7 works very well, so what difference does this make?? Any relevant information would be really good. Thanks in advance for help. Patrick C

Any idea why?

Yup.

Windows 7 takes 'drive latency' into consideration when calculating score, Vista don't.

Some say disabling 'write cache' on drive ups the scores, does for some, it don't for me. I was getting 3.0 for my RAID drives in Vista and Windows 7 when I first installed. I disabled 'write-cache buffer flushing' on mine, and now score 6.0. ;)

not only latency but a slow burst speed can affect it too...
vista did not do such HDD benchmarking that 7 is doing so now the SSD or HDD manufactures have time to catch up...:p
