Shrew Soft VPN with RV042 in Win7(64)

I can't get Shrew to work with my RV042 in Windows 7 (64-bit). All computers are using Windows 7 Professional. Here's the rest:

Shrew Version 2.1.5
Firmware 1.3.12.19-tm
Firewall disabled
Multicast Pass Through enabled
IKE with preshared key
VPN Pass Through enabled

Shrew hangs on "bringing up tunnel," right after preshared key configured.
The debug log states that IKE packet gets sent with no response, and negotiation times out.

I'm out of ideas. Please help.

Problem solved. The solution involved reconfiguration of the Shrew settings.

Solution

Sorry to bring up an old post, I am not a member of this forum but I figured I would post the solution that I found.

My shrew client was hanging on the "bringing up tunnel..." and would disconnect. After trying everything I could find and even installing another VPN I found the solution.

The problem was in Windows Firewall. I did make an exception but it obviously did not cover everything I needed. I disabled the firewall and voila... it works every time flawlessly.

I hope this ends up helping someone.
