Hi,

I've been browsing around for information on extremely slow shutdowns, but it seems like no one else is having my same problem (not that has said it, anyway...)

I just upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit) yesterday and now I'm having shut down problems. Shutdown time has literally been at the very least 20 minutes, and when booted up says that the computer was not shutdown properly. I've tried msconfig and editing the registry, but no matter what it STILL seems to be shutting down at snail like speeds. Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

If you've had these problems (20 min shutdown -) and then have had to play with the registry and msconfig my suggestion would be to reformat your drive, reinstall windows and start from fresh.

If you upgraded from Vista or XP, yes, you may lose a few things but you'll be far better off to reinstall. Just save any critical important data first. You can always get that back. Good luck :):):)
