Side by Side error in Event Viewer

Hi

I am using Windows 7 X64 with 16 GB ram. I recently noticed in event viewer an error message that started on May 7th and every time I boot into windows this errror message appears. I have tried to repair and uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 and 2010 x64 and x86 without any success of the error going away. I checked on google for the error and was told its not an error to be conserned about but I would like to get ride of it finally

Any help would be appreciated

I was able to find out what was causing the issue. It was realplayer of recordingmanger.exe. I was able to take a strace and posted it below

Two options off of the top of my head:

  • Uninstall RealPlayer and then reinstall it.
  • Uninstall RealPlayer and then install a different media player program.

Just an idea that might help solve your issue 'Finally'! lol

Go to your C:\Windows\System32 and C:\Windows\SysWOW64 Folders and 'Take Ownership' of the file 'sxstrace.exe'.

Also, go to C:\ProgramData\RealNetworks\RealDownloader\BrowserPlugins\IE (or which ever browser you are using) and 'Take Ownership' of 'rndlbrowserrecordplugin.dll' and if the problem still exists well 'Take Ownership' of the whole C:\Program Files (x86)\Real\RealPlayer Folder.

Let us know if these actions solve your issue or the problem still persists and we will go from there.

I spoke with a level 1 tech support and made me uninstall and reinstall the suite with deleting real and realnetworks but neither thing worked. The error message is there.

He has no idea on how to fix this issue.

I went to ProgramData\RealNetworks\RealDownloader\BrowserPlugins\IE for 'rndlbrowserrecordplugin.dll'and under security, they are all checked off for me to take Ownership

Real player tech support told me that they need to check with the database and so far no one else has reported this issue. They will see if there is a fix and let me know. Any other ideas, would be great

It will allow you to take control of the file and/or folder with Administrative Privileges as some files require this in order to function correctly.

Do you have User Account Control (UAC) enabled or disabled ie: does a security window popup when you go to open certain software programs ?

If you are on 64-bit, and you still have the sidebyside error, and you haven't tried 2005 VC redistributable, try this.

This fixed my sidebyside app errors (Nvidia GeForce GT 540M on Dell XPS L502x... dream-machine that crashes on extended display / openGL screensavers! one fix leads to another issue.. extended display fixed by underclocking GPU using nTune, which in turn genereates sidebyside app issue... fixed with VC'05.)

Very unprofessional of these guys to a) not include required libraries and b) not know why their code isn't working
