Solved Silverlight and .NET problems, error codes 64C and 643.

I am having problems with Silverlight and .NET Framework.

Error codes are : 643 and 64C.

I tried to uninstall Silverlight; failed with error code 2635. Install failed with 1603 code.

Also, when I click the Start button, it shows update symbol near the shutdown button. It also increases my shutdown time by installing failed updates. Is there any way to solve this?

You appear to have run neither SFC nor CheckSUR -

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

This is one of those cases where unfortunately none of the logs give us any real clue as to the problem - both CheckSUR and SFC are error-free. The windowsupdate log is its usual uninformative self, and the Event logs don't indicate too much amiss apart from the WU failures.

I really have no idea what to do next in this case, and unfortunately pressures of work don't allow me to spend the time on it that I'd like, so all I can suggest here is a repair install.
