Sims 1 won't install on Windows 7

I recently got back into The Sims 1 but I gotten a new ASUS laptop and it has windows 7 on it. I have no idea what is going on and I am trying really hard to install it but nothing works. "Run as administrator" doesn't work or complaibility mode or however you spell it doesn't work. Help?

When did you get the laptop? What model Asus is it? is it Media or digital like steam (the game I mean)? have you updated your drivers since you purchase your laptop?
