Discord install on Windows 7

It's NOT supported any longer. hence, clean install will fail on Windows 7.

Here is my solution.
I have a Windows 7 computer running Discord. (Just no update, no support any more).
go to its user folder, copy Local/Discord, and /Roam/Discord
to/over-write onto the new Windows 7 computer, user folder, respectively.

on the new Windows 7 computer, start Discord. now need to login user ID/password.

It runs fine since then on the new Windows 7 computer.

Hey, found a GitHub page with a kernel extentions for Windows 7, lists Discord Canary as one of the applications supported by it. I haven't tested it but it might be worth a shot.

Last year, I tried its version VxKex 1.1.1.1375. was no go.



please read its releases. it may have malicious files. NOT by real developer (gone), but by fake IDs or fake developers.

Where exactly should I copy the selected files? Or do you mean I should take these from the new Windows 11 (2025) installation and put them into the Windows 7 system?
