SKYPE and OneCare prevent installation

I do not use SKYPE but perhaps four years ago unloaded it for a few hours (on a predecessor machine). No matter what I do I cannot find any trace of it, but Windows 7RC does. I have been using Windows Live OneCare. I deleted it and even found a short program from MS that further deleted it. I have tried 15 times this morning and while the process sometimes goes a bit further, these two ghosts are lurking somewhere in my computer and while I have found tools to suposededly remove them, nothing seems to work.
