Hello All,

I had Skype 3.8 installed on my Windows 7 - 32 bit machine. I would get the same advisory warning when I started the application each time and would go ahead and click run. When I did that, Skype functioned properly. However, the callto function that allows me to click on callto numbers in firefox and was not working.

So, I uninstalled Skype 3.8 and downloaded the installer for 4.0 beta. When I run the installer (both in compatibility mode and out), it downloads everything and then just sits with at the Sype Beta - Install window.

At the bottom is a progress bar that states "Installing Skype: may take a few minutes". Well, it just sits there forever.

I have tried both Skype 3.8 and Skype 4.0 Beta. I have tried deleting all the files with Skype in the name as well as uninstalling via Control Panel.

Can anyone advise?

Skype Beta 4.0.61.181 is working fine on x64 and x86, I had problems with all the others closing as soon as it opened, strange that you cant even install it though, all of the versions I tried installed just some didn't stay open.

Have you used any activators, patches to remove the watermark or send feedback?

I haven't really tried anything unusual. Interestingly enough I am trying it on two separate computers with Seven and having the same problem.

The other thing is that it has previously worked on both machines. I was using 3.8.x and unistalled yesterday to try to install 4.0. I'm wondering if perhaps something has happened recently that has caused the problem. Has anyone installed today?

I installed it yesterday after another fresh Windows install, played with the registry and buggered things up a little lol.
