I did read this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/12444-task-scheduler-create-new-task.html
but have no success with putting my laptop to sleep automatically.
May someone tell me what exactly I need to put under Actions? Do I need to make script first? because all I can choose there is Start program, Send email, or Display message  And I have no idea what "program" I need to choose for sleep....

I thought I will try first with line found for making shortcut for sleep so won't need download any extra programs:

C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe Powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState Sleep

But it will go to Hibernate instead, did just test it. Will try now the tutorial on the linked page, hope that works.
Still wondering though what's wrong with the line with rundll32.exe It was for Vista though at the page where I found it....

Windows 7 Task Scheduler sleep command.

Well, I figured it out. To put a Windows 7 computer to sleep at a specified time using the Task Scheduler is a two step process.

First, you must disable the hibernation function. This can be accomplished with Admin rights on the CMD screen. See tutorial below:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/819-hibernate-enable-disable.htmlhttp://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/819-hibernate-enable-disable.html

Second, you need to use the following command in the Windows Task Scheduler:

Rundll32.exe Powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState Sleep

That is it!

Nice find if you don't need hibernate. I use it though :) But hope this can be useful to someone who need only sleep otption. Thanks for sharing.
