Hi Bill

Did this yesterday.Followed the tutorial with no problems except the length of time it took.Integrating the service pack took just over 90 mins on my notebook.(will be interested to hear how long it takes on a more powerfull machine) and saving the ISO image took around an hour to complete.I think the whole process took about 3 hours but that is on a netbook and i was using it at the time.
I havent installed from it yet but have used the Winre from the disk and that was fine.

One thing to note would be in step 3 (extracting the image) It spent around 10 mins at 100% before offering the list operating system page.I thought at first it had maybe crashed but left it to its own devices it eventually gave the next option.(again i dont know if thats just due to my underpowered notebook)

Good Luck All

Danny

We need to know beforehand if this slipstream process will not bring the drawbacks found in the slipstreamed version of Windows Vista SP1 when it was necessary to install SP2 ... I'd rather wait ...:D Anyway, good to know! :)

Hi Bagavan

Not sure why you didnt get the slipstream option. There should be a tick box below the select operating system tabs. Are you using version 2.6.0Beta as the slipstrem option isnt available in earlier editions i dont think.

Yea and that's the problem with that guide. There's no slipstream option in 2.0. The slipstream version is the 2.6 beta.

I slipstreamed it yesterday as well. Did it with no problems with 2.6.

Just want to share my experiences.

1) I downloaded both versions 1.7 and 2.6 for the 64 bit from this site:

RT Seven Lite - Downloads

I chose the iso option as in para 2 of the tut, but with both versions I got the error "select bootable win7 os" when the app was pointed to the iso. Googled for it but couldnt get a solid fix so i extracted the iso using winrar to a folder on the hard drive and pointed the app to that. That worked fine in both versions.

2) In ver 1.7, theres no box "Slipstream service pack" as described in the tut, so I went to the task panel on the left, chose Integration and then tried to point to SP1. That was a no go because one can only choose a .msu installer and as we know the SP1 is an .exe. In any case, I switched to ver 2.6 and that let me select the SP1 as described in the tut.

3) Para 4 is the longest step, took over an hour though am on a core i7. The "Proceed" button appears only when the integration is complete. Along the way, the window may show "not responding", though the hard drive is working like crazy. Must be patient.

So now the SP1 iso is ready. Will burn dvd and post later.

Ok, now that SP1 is out (or almost out), heres a way to slipstream it into the Win7 install dvd. From what I read, its working.

How To Integrate or Slipstrem Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Into Installation DVD ISO

Will be trying out in a day or two. Anybody try and get good/bad results, please post so everybody can know. Also, please post if alternative methods work/work better.

Good report from you, and also good help from the link above that you provided. First time I've ever done slipstreaming and it worked like a charm. Thanks.

Slightly off topic, but since it's SP1: are there performance enhancements?

Crappy:( I'm from Australia:)
If you guys are looking for an official slipstream here is what one individual had to say (this guy helped leak a Windows 7 build on this forum back in the day, so I personally would trust him, but as with anything that isn't official it's up to you).

Anyways:

I downloaded the rar that contained the files of an Enterprise x64 VL image, and I can confirm the files are all Microsoft original and untouched, so anyone who installed with those files has a Microsoft original slipstreamed installation
