removing internet explorer in win7 sp1

hi since internet explorer is kaput can i just uninstall it with out going to edge. i dont want edge if its not necessary or is it recommended ?. i am using firefox THX for any tips or tricks

IE is and can be an intriguer part of your OS and some programs may need it. So I would advise not to uninstall it. I mean, why? It's not bugging you and whatnot, right? Again, it's code is part and parcel with the OS and for some software. Though, removing it from Add/Remove shouldn't pose much of a problem, but I never tried it.
