slow boot after clone by win image backup

I have 2 identical hp5700 sff desktops, intel duo 1.8g, 32bit, 4g ram. I decided I could clone the 160g WD drive of desktop A, which works fine, and install the clone to 320g WD in desktop B, since they are identical units. I used win image backup. After completion, desktop B boots to a screen with a spinning circle and the message "please wait", which lasts 2 minutes, and then it moves to the logon screen. Logon is fast enough to desktop and the computer performs normally after this. Desktop A boots fine without the 2 minute delay. I inserted repair disk, which said there were mbr errors which it fixed, but this didn't change the delay. I ran error check/ repair from c drive>properties>tools with no change. I would love to have help fixing this.

Two computers are never identical. During the 2 minutes the system adjusts to the different system. If you want to avoid that, you have to make a ew installation for the second system.

Thanks for the reply. I suspected someone would say this, and I do understand the comment. However, it is also true that after the boot it works fine. Isn't there a workaround to help the computer to not be confused by the differences and get a faster boot?

The workaround is a separate installation.

Sorry to inconvenience you by asking for an "out of the box" solution, which is so much more convenient than a full reinstall. That's why cloning exists and is popular. I remind any who are reading this thread that a 2minute boot delay, even if it can't be fixed, is preferable to the time and energy spent to reinstall programs, change settings, etc. When forced to do this in the past, it has taken a week before everything is as it should be. I will live with the delay rather than reinstall, since once booted, everything else works fine. I hope someone can suggest a more flexible solution, but I certainly appreciate your recommendation.

sysprep clarification

This problem was posted in the installation and setup forum, but has no replies after 100+ views. I'm hoping this forum will broaden the exposure, so that some replies will occur.

I am a newbie to sysprep but am in need of just such a solution. I have been linked to Kari's tutorial thru this forum and hope he will see and reply. I made a win7 image backup of my os from computer "A" and cloned to a new drive in an identical computer "B". Both computers are hp5700 sff, win 7/32 bit, 1.8g intel duo, 4g ram. I booted computer "B" after the clone, and it works, but boots slowly, 2minutes, to logon. After getting to the desktop, it seems to work just like Computer "A".

Do I sysprep computer "B" that now has the new hd with the cloned os image in place to the restart mode, to correct my boot speed issue?
It has ie10, so should I check for the reg error 32 vs 64 and edit before I start?
Is there another way to fool the new machine into starting quickly? I did not understand the forum tutorial that dealt with changing default profile w/o sysprep.
