For the past couple of weeks my check for Windows updates has been intolerably slow or never completes. An internet search revealed a couple of manual KB manual update solutions. I checked one of the recommended solutions and found that the suggested KB updates have been installed (KB3138612, KB3145739).
I don't know if the following is significant or not: so I will include it here. I installed a program named GWX Control Panel to eliminate the nagging to upgrade to Windows 10. This was installed a few months ago, and there were no noticeable negative results.
What do you recommend?
