Greetings guys,

My computer yesterday was working normally as it is supposed to.

But today when I switched on my PC it acted very weird. The problem is that whenever I play a song (via Youtube/WMP/VLC media player Etc..) and scroll down on Facebook or browse through the folders, the songs starts to "lagg" while loading.

Also when I play a game it laggs! Now my computer can handle these games brilliantly, I don't get what's the problem, I didn't even install a new program which might be the cause.

My Specifications: CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 @ 2.66GHz
RAM: 4GB
VGA(Graphics Card): GTX 275

What I tried so far: System restore to 3 days ago,Re-installing windows 7(deleted windows.old folder), Closed all applications.

Did the above but still not working well.

You have my thanks for your interest as I will be looking forward for your reply.

Welcome
The cause could be one of many reasons, lets start with the the lost likely.
Sounds like a memory problem, I would.

Run a full anti virus scan
Download and run a full scan with malwarebytes. Virus or malware can be using memory.
Test memory
Guide to using Memtest86+ - Geeks to Go Forums

If the above does not turn up any leads here are several ideas:
Go to search type device manager and look for any yellow warning markers
Download and run malwarebytes, a full scan after you update
Run antivirus scan
Check memory with memtest86
Make sure that you are not over heating.
Try in safe mode; report back if it works properly.
Try a clean boot
Make sure PSU is working properly
If overclocking, restore to original
Test hard drive at company website.
Test in safe mode, does it still happen?
Try with clean boot..

Greetings Richard, and thanks for your reply.

I have tried your suggestions but seems the same. Tomorrow I will clean my computer from the inside, because most likely the ram can be also dirty and can affect its performance.

Thanks alot for your suggestions, I appreciate it. :)

It takes hours to check the ram with memtest. It is usually done over night. Eight passes are required.

Following on from Richard's good advice...

There are many reasons why a PC " behaves" this way.

These annoying " gliches" may be caused by an overloaded hard drive, overworked CPU, Malware, running 2 AV 's, unnecessary data, Browser addons or you may have unnecessary programs running in the background etc....

* Did your computer come preloaded with Anti Virus Software?

If so what was it & how did you remove it?

* Please list ALL of your Current Security software.

* Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker to repair any damaged or corrupt OS files.
{Option 2}

*Study the Event Viewer > Custom > Admin view for repeat errors about the current situation.

Google text and ID# for resolution.

* Some further reading for you...

Thanks for your info.

My current security software is Avira Antivirus. I have ran my computer in lowest resolution (800x600) and there wasn't any lagg but still when I increased it by few it started lagging again. Also do you think i should install windows updates? I always leave them as a standby.

Of course you should always update Windows.

IMHO tis a good idea to have your computer set to inform you, but not download or install any updates offered automatically.

Would also recommend you do a few at a time rather than oodles at once.

With any .NET Framework updates offered I suggest you do one at a time. Reboot on completion.
