slow startup and high cpu usage after startup

Since I upgraded from Windows vista home premium 64bit to windows 7 home premium 64bit my computer has been taking a long time to start, the longest wait is after the password screen until the desktop loads. Also my cpu usage is very high for about 10 minutes after startup. I looked to see what was using so much of the cpu, and it seems the culprit is something called System Interrupt. I have no idea what could be causing this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey. You probably have unneeded apps starting with Windows. Type msconfig in the start menu search box and hit enter. Go to the startup tab and uncheck the unnecessary apps and save. Reboot to test.

A better method is to use the information available from msconfig then use Regedit (also from start menu search) to follow the keys and delete.

I can have a look at things if you'd like. Type system information in the start menu search box and hit enter. Ctrl+s on the opened screen. Zip or rar the file and attach to a post using the paperclip.

The system seems better off than most.

You can type services.msc in the start menu and hit enter. Then disable NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D and LightScribe services.

Either install a driver for the wireless adapter or disable it in the device manager.

The system takes a little while to get to desktop because of Norton.
