This is the first time I'm using a VM player. And would like to know are they
suppose to be that slow. To put it Windows 7 x64 Home Premium and that ran a normal time.
but the first update ( I know I's a large one ) took 3 hours.
Could any body could point me to somewhere I could get some advice on how to
use VM Player and any tricks to speed it up.

Thanks a buch:)

How much RAM and CPU did you allocate to the virtual machine?

Hi there
People can't help you if you don't answer the questions -- as the previous poster says --how much RAM did you allocate to the VM and what might also be relevant what is the HOST machine you are using.

Finally when you access the VM are you accessing it as a user from the HOST machine or are you logging on to the VM from a different machine using something like RDP -- if that's the case then we need to know is the connection via LAN or wireless.

People will gladly help but you need to supply a decent amount of information for this type of problem to be solved.

Cheers

Sorry for not getting back quickly, had an emergency come up.
To answer your question I have allocated none.
Wouldn't know how to do it.
I have an Acer X3910 desktop. More info on my profile page.

That would be the issue then.

Ralph, have a look at this tutorial - it uses Windows 8 as an example, but the principle is the same for Windows 7, and other OS's:

VMware Player - Install Windows 8
