My chassis has some quality problem but I cannot afford to buy a new one at the moment. Especially the hard drive part, the mounting part of the hard drive is very unusual. Sometimes the computer could give unknown strange noise, it still works perfectly, though.

So I test the HDD

I tested the HDD by CrystalDiskInfo. This is the result. I only know it's "Good", but I don't know if the temperature is alright and what those values mean. I've captured the screen. Could anyone help see if it's good. Thanks

That temperature is fine......the noise you are hearing is probably the disk mount rattling against the chassis/screws. Its nothing to be concerned about unless its extremely loose, and the HDD is physically moving a lot.

What is so unusual about the mounting?
Please give the brand and model number of the chassis.

Sometime we hearing the spinning of DVD burner, or dirt fan.
I clean those fan with brushtooth adding some oil and all are ok ( when its do able)
Also, you can disable autorun in the O/S.

Hope my little hint wil help you, for your picture all are green so where is the trouble :)
Maybe the fan of your heatsink too

Oil and you drop one MAX, sometime you have to remove the sticker on the middle of the fan sometime you have a cork.

This oil is pro for this job

hello

everyone. I've been late coming back but I hope it's not too late.

The chassis is a cheap chassis which is confirmed (by me) to have quality problem

The HDD is mounted vertically (turning 90 degree to mount with the four screw holes)

I'm still not sure what is unusual about the hard drive mounting in that case:
XIGMATEK - PRODUCT

It is just a legacy design (in the old days that is the only way they came), with the drives inserted from the back rather than the side. It is not an easy design for assembly.

It looks like there are 4 screws that hold the hard drive bay rack into place on the bottom of the chassis. During computer assembly you would remove those 4 screws and remove the rack. Then install your hard drive into the rack and secure them tightly with the 4 screws for the hard drive. Then reinstall the rack and secure it with screws and then attach cables.

Because there are no isolation pads between any of the parts any vibration of the spinning drive is going to be telegraphed through the metal parts. Therefore you need to be sure all the screws are tight to avoid metal-on-metal rattle.

Does any of this explain the strange noise?

Hello what is metal-on-metal rattle?

btw, there is isolation pad between the HDD drive and the mount metal. The official website does not show the full picture of the chassis. The HDD is mounted vertically.

You'd have to hear it. The old cases had a distinctive sound. It's hard to describe. But it was the sound of the hard drive, clicking away, sort of echoed through the metal case, like hearing music through a wall.

Anyway, you have rubber isolation, so it is probably not that.

So we are back to this from your first post:
"Sometimes the computer could give unknown strange noise,"

Any way you could describe that?
