I have been going trough diffuculties with my asus laptop. First a couple of BSODs, then unable to recover system and now the user profile is behaving improperly.

First there was a baloon stating that I am using a temporary user profile, then eliminated it with the regedit. (deleted smt.bak). Now I am not using any program as a new user. I have manually copied from my recovery files to related folders, but nothing changes. Assume I could not express my problem clearly. Hope this capture may help.

Many thanks in advance.

First do a backup of user files so you don't lose them.

Then you could try to create a new administrative user, to see if that works smoothly.

It may be that hard drive problems are causing a breakdown. What was the BSOD error code? You should test the hard drive with chkdsk /F and then /R. Check its SMART status with defraggler or hdscan. Do a Long Generic test on it with Seatools.

New user profile works. But when try to copy user folders from the old to the new profile, logs me with a temporary user profile again.

Fisrt 0x0000007a, then 0x00000050

Done and repaired,

Check its SMART status with defraggler or hdscan. Do a Long Generic test on it with Seatools.
Seatools says smart is ok but long genereric failed. I dont know what does this mean.

Thank you

SeaTools doesn't break down the SMART attributes. Try one of the other progs. Attribute ## 5 and 196-199 are usually the most critical.

Error x7a can be either software or hardware, but it's looking like hardware here.

The Long Generic is the gold standard. If the drive has failed, it is imperative that you have your data backed up before you do anything else.

The drive may be recoverable, by storing a full disk image of it on an external drive, wiping all partitions, creating one new partition, and then running chkdisk /R on it from a windows repair environment. The first step is to get that SMART report to see how bad it is.
