Solved snd.val & scr.pos suddenly appear

Last Friday I suddenly got two dialogue boxes open on start-up. One says that Windows doesn't know how to open snd.val and the other scr.pos.

I have searched unsuccessfully online but cannot find a solution.

I have not installed any new software so I am at a loss as to why they have appeared.

I tried disabling each tsr in turn to see if I could track down what was causing it but again no success.

Any ideas?

First to be safe I would run a malwarebytes scan

Please download the free version of Malwarebytes.
Update it immediately.
Do a full system scan
Let us know the results at the end.

I ran the program you suggested but it did not find any Malware.

I have just got some information come up from Microsoft Windows File Association about the files so I will investigate the websites they suggest.

Solved

I tracked down the two files to my C:\Users\........\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and deleted them.

It appears to have solved the problem but new files have been created which don't seem to cause the problem.
