Ive been getting a black screen with movable cursor for weeks now. Posted over some forums about it without much of a fix. Tried a few things, even formatted and reinstalled a fresh copy of Win 7 and bought a new SSD drive for a boot drive. AND it still does it. Ive had several workarounds to get to the desktop one of which was to change the boot sequence in the bios then change it back to the boot drive and it would come up. But after a while that stopped working and I would try the repair windows way by putting in the Win 7 disc. But it would still do it the next day again. So now what works is actually when I put in the Win 7 disc in my drive for whatever reason it boots right up??? WTH? If I leave the disc out or put another disc in it does the black screen again. What is the magic in keeping the Win 7 disc in the drive even when I have the first boot device as my SSD drive with windows on it??? Clueless. I recently added a HDTV as a second monitor via hdmi, my PC monitor uses DVI (I have a ASUS 5870). Latest drivers as well. I still wonder if that could be a issue, using dvi and hdmi and/or the video driver...Anyway thanks for any input.
