Hello,

I want to install a Samsung or Kingston solid state drive in my Desktop PC. Thing the worries me is that SSD comes in 3 different sizes. I will connect it using the SATA ports, But how do I find out which size of SSD drive to buy.

Q: Is it neccessary to re-install windows after connecting the SSD.

I use a 2.5 inch Crucial SSD in my main system. 2.5 inch will be small in a normal hard drive caddy, but you can line up the screw holes and screw it in. Or, you can buy a 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch bay converter like this one: Amazon.com: SILVERSTONE SDP08 3.5 to 2 X 2.5-Inch Bay Converter: Computers & Accessories

Have you tried going to the SSD manufacturers' websites? They probably have some sort of wizard that will tell you which of their SSDs will work in your specific make and model of desktop.
