I have a Sony DCR-HC18E camcorder and a Via PCI firewire card & am running Win7 Pro 64-bit. I connected my camcorder via the firewire cable and it installed drivers for the camcorder. Unfortunately the camcorder isn't picked up by either Nero Vision or Sony Vegas. The PCI card looks fine under Device Manager and I have tried 2 different firewire cables. I also tried installing all available legacy and alternative compatible drivers under Device Manager. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi dwl 99,
I am having a similar problem. If you will ck out what I have done, and then go to the firewire links. The only 3 options left, is to take out all my cards in the express area, and run only the newly returned 13904 card, then see what I can do with IRQ's, as it does seem like I have a lot. Then, lastly, is to get a more compatible 1304 card that has win 7 drivers. My last try, showed in device manager "imaging device, Sony DV", but failed to launch the software.Make sure that in DM under 1394 hub, that it is a texas instrument one, and that it shows as a "legacy" driver for the card. I will keep you posted on my trials. Good luck,
Millard
