Sort by Type not remembered of desktop Icons

If I right click on the desktop and select Sort by "type" or any other choice, it will be selected, after a reboot for some reason windows doesn't remember the selection and I have to set it again. It shows that nothing is selected at all after reboot.

Any idea how to fix this?

There is another freeware that is good at sorting and saving your icons where you want.
I use it myself without any problems.

Fences™ Download - By Stardock - Clean up your desktop clutter

It has some cool features like "auto-hide" desktop for a minimalist effect, as well you can right click certain icons and exempt them from the "auto-hide" feature.

It is also in this sites recommended freeware thread. Hope it suits you.

You have 3 selections. Make system restore point before trying. If you do not like it you can go back with system restore and try another.

So is it just a bug in Win7 that it isnt remembered after I reboot for desktop icon sorting?
