Sound Crashing

Since I first installed Windows 7, I've been having a problem that continues to persist even after updates. While I'm on my computer watching youtube videos or whatever, after some time the sound will stop working. For example: I go on youtube to watch a video, the webpage opens up, i click on a link to watch the video, the frame for the video opens up but the video doesn't load, and my browser ends up crashing. This is not an internet related problem because the same thing happens when I open up Windows Media Player, whenever it trys to load something it crashes. If I restart my computer the problem goes away but then comes back after an hour or two. Please if you have any solutions let me know. Thanks.

P.S. I know its a sound issue because the windows 7 sounds do not work.

Hey.

You can't tell by Windows sounds not working. Go to the Control Panel and set the default theme for sounds. And most likely, they'll work again.

Please fill out your system specs so we can get this fixed for you efficiently as possible.

Also too for now, visit Adobe's website and install the latest Flash plugin.

In an elevated command prompt, copy and paste this and hit enter:

sfc /scannow

Put the motherboard info too since that's most important. And also visit NVIDIA's website and install the latest driver from there.

Boot into safe mode + networking to update Adobe.

Use CPU-Z mainboard tab or Google to find your motherboard model.

Well the command prompt scan didn't turn up anything, my adobe flash player is up to date (didn't fix the problem), I'm still trying to find the mobo info and I really don't want to pay for driver detective even though it did say I have 2 out of date sound drivers. could you possibly tell me where to go so i can download them for free.

Don't use those driver services. They mess up pcs quicker than malware.

Let us know your motherboard model and we can help.
