Sound from speakers when headphone plugged in

Hello
I have my headphones plugged in but sometimes when I open programs and CPU % goes high then sound switches to speakers. It only happens for a short time (under a second).
Please help

The PC sound is NOT the ATI as you have listed. It is IDT audio according to the Dell site.

1. Make sure you have the correct Dell supplied sound driver. Drivers & Downloads | Dell United States

If you are still having problems, repost on the Dell users forum for assistance. There are those there that are familiar with the Dell hardware. Laptop - Dell Community
