Sound Lagging

Whenever I hear sound, sometimes when something heavy or loud it ends up lagging like instead of saying "Hi", it will say "Hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii". Any solutions?
I'm not really good at computer stuff, and I couldn't find anything on google.
I have a Windows Vista Home Premium.
I'd like some help please, it's really bugging me.
It happened ever since I installed ConstantGuard and Norton Antivirus, it might be a problem with that, but I uninstalled it and it was still like that.

Second have you tried doing a system restore before constantguard and norton antivirus were installed?
