My DAW recording interface, a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 only works with my Sonar 8.5.3, it won't work with other Windows sound functions. I have a SoundBlaster sound card for non DAW audio.

it was working, then it suddenly stopped. I reinstalled the drivers for a 3rd time and now its working again. I have no idea what caused it. Maybe it was after Id loaded up cubase and switched from the asio drivers to the emu one for lower latency, cant see how that would affect windows sounds though
