Hi all,
My first blog / post or (whatever it is called).here

Did a Custom / Clean install from Vista > Win 7 Home premium, last week, ( not an upgrade), and all went well, Except I have Audio issues.

I have regular playback of sound ok, but no sound recorder facility using either windows own or third party apps.

Had playback and record no probs with Vista.

When I click windows sound recorder icon, I get Dialogue Box, 'An audio recording device could not be found', and similar messages when trying to run third party sound record apps.
Clicking the recorder tab ( in the sounds box) correctly shows my sound card and 3 x unconnected mics.

A check in device manager again recognises my soundcard, A Sigmatel STAC 92xx C-Major HD Audio, and confirms all drivers are up to date.

( My pc is a 2.5 year old, Dell E520, with no modifications.)

I am now ready to throw myself out of the window, but as I live in a bangalow, there's not even much point in doing.

Any knowledgeable help / guidance ( hopefully in plain speak),would be most appreciated.

Here's hoping.

Many thanks
