sound scratchy

Hi folks,
I am getting scratchy sound. what could be the problem?

What model Dell? from your specs I assume it's a Laptop.

First question is the Dell sound driver installed? On the Dell users forum we find that non-Dell sound drivers either do not work or do not work correctly. e.g. if the default Microsoft installed "HD Audio Codec" is listed as the sound device that indicates a non-Dell driver.

I have Dell Inspiron N5110 laptop. The sound driver that I have got is High Definition Audio Device.

That sounds like it's not the Dell driver. If you had the correct driver it would state IDT, not just the High Definiton.

I got the Dell IDT as attached but then its not solved. Anything other than that.

Repost your problem on the Dell Laptop Audio forum section and see if someone there has anything for it. That would have been the best place to start since there are those there that are familiar with Dell's.
