A few days ago I had to perform a cmd scan to have my computer actually work windows explorer after not being able to locate some files (error 127 i think regularly came up) and sound before then among all programs worked.
I have performed multiple cmd scans, update or attempted to locate many related driver updates amongst all recent windows updates. I have reinstalled my sound drivers and still this problem occurs.
since then sound has worked in the majority of programs such as browsers or video sources from them and system sounds, itunes audio originally didn't work either but I think I started windows sound based program in regedit which then fixed that. However other files such as MKV video files sounds do not play or are even listed up in the media player in the windows mixer, I have checked within multiple similar types of these programs internal setups and still no avail from Visual novels to mobile game emulators to no avail. however ordinary games still work within programs such as steam.
I assume windows is unable to recognize sound from more uncommon file types from a specific windows program from before becoming disabled, yet I have no clue how to fix this and especially not in some cover all method unlike what I had to do for my itunes fix.
