Space-bar Not Working

Hello Forum,


I've started having a problem with my keyboard space-bar. It's an intermittent problem that seems to occur every couple of days. I'll be typing something and notice that my space-bar gets no on screen response.


I'm able to clear the issue by performing a system/disk clean-up and rebooting. I suspect this issue is related to a Windows Update, because this problem started recently, within the past couple of months.


I don't think it's a hardware issue. My keyboard is in excellent condition and I use a clear keyboard cover.



When I perform the disk clean-up, I typically remove over 1GB of internet junk and tracking cookies. I'm using Temp File Cleaner and CCleaner to perform the system/disk clean-up.


This problem is annoying. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is there a known solution?

Are there any YELLOW triangles in the Device Manager?
Have you checked to see if there are any new drivers for the keyboard?

Device manager is good; no indications of driver problems. I checked a few of the keyboard drivers and attempted to update them, but the system indicated that the best drivers were already installed.


It could be a corrupted driver, but the problem only seems to occur after I've got a few days of accumulated internet junk and tracking cookies.


The only changes to my system are Windows Updates and I suspect the problem is related to an update.
