I have a few days off work, so why not enjoy the time on my new pc. I installed a few racing games and installed my USB steering wheel SPEEDLINK / Products / Gaming Accessories / PC Gaming / Racing Wheels but it wont install.

I have downloaded the top link (Operating system: Win 98 / Win ME / Win 2000 / Win XP (32-Bit) / Win Vista (32-Bit) / Win Vista (64-Bit)) and when downloaded, extracted the folder to the desktop and ran it in Vista mode and run as administrator. (I'm running 64bit)

It runs and says its installed. Then Windows says there's an error with installation and it wasn't successful.

Is there another way to get this up and running? I really don't want to buy a whole new steering wheel.

Thanks
Dan

While Vista drivers will work most of the time, they aren't always compatible with Windows 7. I'd suggest that you contact the customer service of the manufacturer and ask them whether or not their hardware is able to be used on Windows 7.

In the meantime I'd suggest that you try a few more options.

A) Attempt to install the same drivers without using compatibility mode.

B) Attempt to install the same drivers using Windows XP compatibility mode.

C) Attempt to install the second set of drivers with and without using Vista compatibility mode.

Make sure that you completely uninstall the drivers and disconnect the device between each instance. You may also need to restart your computer after each installation and uninstallation.

Try it without the custom software/driver. Plug it in and see what shows up in Devices and Printers. My Logitech Momo Force feedback will work for most games without having to install the Logitech gaming software.

It still says it can't install
