SSD Boot time question

Hello,
I just got myself a SSD finally a fair few month's ago for my new PC so i am really a noob on how SSD's start to perform after a while.
Was really pleased about the boot times because they were really fast.
But now is my question:
Now my other HDD is getting filled up abit i notice a difference in boot times per boot (even if i don't install anything).
Even though it does not take alot longer maybe 1-2 seconds i am scared that it is broken or something so i came here to ask for advice.
The only thing i notice about it being longer is the windows loadscreen going from

till

and has about 4-5 seconds difference at max.
starting to count from pressing the power button it takes from 23 - 27 seconds to boot into windows.
i have nothing installed on the SSD except windows 7 home premium 64 bit.


So can someone say that this normal and nothing to worry about or is there something wrong with the SSD and the load times should be consistant?

SSD: Samsung 840 Series
HDD: WD blue 1 TB

I own 6 systems with SSDs - the oldest from 2008. I always noticed a certain degradation of the boot and operating times after a certain usage. To get accurate boot time figures, you have to look at event 100 in the Event Viewer. To find that, drill down this chain:

Eventvwr
Applications and Service Logs
Microsoft
Windows
Diagnostics - performance
Operational
Event ID 100

Hello,
i looked at the event ID 100's as you suggested and these seem to be quite the same time having the last 5 boot times:
24217ms
25185ms
25589ms
24728ms and
31456ms

Those timings are not great but they are not out of line. There are many factors that can influence the SSD performance - the SSD itself, the port it is attached to, the number and type of startup programs, the RAM, etc.

Keep watching it from time to time and as long as there are extreme changes, there is nothing to worry about.

It might be useful to inspect the startup programs. In principle you can disable all (except for the AV program). Try various configurations and see whether that yields better times.

Fast start up times are nice. But, that is not why we bought the SSD. How does it perform in every day operation of the OS? That's what we bought it for and I'm willing to bet you can tell no difference. It's sort of like benchmark tests. People like to brag about who has the best benchmark, but in reality there is no difference in the every day performance of the SSD. After all that is what is important and why we bought them, not for a better benchmark. In my opinion, start up times and good benchmark scores are good for only one thing. To let you know if there is something drastically wrong with your SSD. Benchmarks really mean nothing. It can depend on what is running in the background and quite a few other things. I suspect if you ran the same benchmark 3 times in a row, 20 minutes apart, you would get 3 different scores. But, it's the same SSD in the same system and performs as well as it always has.

Well i was quite scared it was being defective and since its still in warrantee (warrantee drops in august i think) from the shop at this moment.
Since i payed alot for this computer i was scared that it would break already.
But the SSD is performing alright but i was just wondering because of the boot times.
