Solved Ssd in sata 2 runs at sata 1speed? Vs hdd in sata 2

Recently fitted an SSD but didnt feel i was seeing the performance increase boot program load times as later determined it was running in sata 1 despite being in a sata 2 port? I couldnt find a fix for that here despite some assistance from helpful members, so decided to crystalmark the two to determine the best choice for OS boot drive and here are the results.
SSD running in sata 1 the SSD still appears to be ahead.
Based on the results of the two Is the best option the SSD or HDD for OS boot drive ?

Thanks again Megahertz07 is it a significant improvement in your opinion or a bit of a waste of the ssd cability with the sata 1 bottleneck speeds, use is htpc / media server so a few movies kodi web browsing catch up tv music thats all

The SSD is 3 times faster than the HDD.

Even in sata 1 mode 3x faster wow ok thanks thats cleared that up ill put the ssd back in and use my old for storage thanks again Megahertz07

I purchased a USB/eSATA to SATA CABLE

see here new ssd slower than i had hoped ?
