First off, I know for a fact that the constant static is not due to hardware faults, this is due to regally using Linux, without the need for music playing to remove the background noise.

So how would I fix windows from causing me to have static?
Looking at most of the threads, it says that it's not windows fault for massive amounts of static and rather it is faulty cables or poor hardware.
Knowing neither of these give that much static to the point where you can hear it from across the room, with headphones on!

This is my current headset: Razer Carcharias for Xbox®/PC - Buy Gaming Grade Headsets - Official Razer Online Store (United Kingdom)
I would just ignore it as one of the meany faults that windows has, if it didn't hurt to be on windows with my headphones on.

If you scan through the posts here (and on other forums) you will see many posts about noise/pops/clicks, etc. The majority of these are caused by drivers - sound, video, etc. Wi-Fi is another known cause. As you have an ASUS motherboard get the correct sound driver from ASUS (I have an ASUS P8Z77 LE Plus motherboard and do not have the problem). Also get the latest video drivers from the Video card vendor. If you have Wi-Fi on the desktop, temporarily disable it and see if it makes a difference.

I see that headset has both 3.5mm connectors and a USB connector (I assume for power). Do you get the "noise" with just speakers or with a basic headset?
