Solved Start menu..access denied

I would like to ba able to customise my start meny as I used to do in XP, but I keep getting access denied when try to open stat menu under user.

What exactly are you trying to change? As your post is in customization I'm assuming the graphics of it? If so, there are some tutorials on how to accomplish such customization. For instance there is... http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/23024-start-menu-button-change.html

Maybe you are asking about the start menu folder (where the shortcuts are). There are 2 folders actually - one for the current user and one shared between all users. Non-admin users can't modify the "all users" folder. You should be able to modify the user-specific folder (like C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu)

I want to create some folders under start menu and put the menu short cuts there. I tried C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu) but not all menu short cuts there.
I log in as admin.

This is the all users start menu: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

Folders that give "Access Denied" are junction points for compatibility with old software.
