Hello everyone,

My system consists of Windows 7 64 bit SP 1, AMD CPU A10-7700K, 8 GB Dual Channel DDR3

AS Rock on board graphics, AMD Real Tek audio on board, 1 GB Toshiba Hard Drive

For some reason (probably my fault) I am unable to use the Start>Search feature.

It get crazier from there. As an example, services.msc does not work from Start>Run. It works if I use the Windows key +R.

Eventvwr.msc (or without the mmc) doesn't work from in Start>Run. Using Windows Key + R pops up a message stating MMC could not create the Snap-IN. The same MMC message with either command prompt level.

I tested several others but I'll need to create some sort of spread sheet to detail the possibilities.

The only (and probably the problem) is I flashed my AMD board to a slightly higher software (version) before this problem occured.

Thanks to everyone in advance for any assistance.

Don't think that a new BIOS has anything to do with your issue.

Do a system file check.
Open a CMD window as Administrator and type
sfc /scannow

If it finds any problem on the first scan, repeat it 2 more times, rebooting after each scan.

Hi Megahertz47,

I did as you suggested. All three times the scan found no errors.

Any other suggestions ?
