start up error

I have no idea what this is & it only does it on start up
please move this thread if i have it in the wrong spot, not sure, thanks.

Looks like notepad is being started at boot time for some reason. There are a a variety of ways to check this, the best is Autoruns for Windows. Start it then see if you can find notepad in any of the startup areas. If so, uncheck it to disable.

Click on Help / Help for usage info.

I downloaded the autoruns for winddows, but didnt see anything that will open it in start up.

You'll need to delete the desktop.ini file in startup folder following the steps given here, or use their Fixit button: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330132

Errors like this are resolved by googling the message text.

i deleted every file that was named Desktop.ini

Follow the exact steps in the tutorial I linked from MS.

You downloaded Autoruns.zip. Unzip it then run autoruns.exe.

I did and i checked on start up and nothing there that would make it pop up, however i did fix it by searching it and deleting them.

Both steps didn't work for me, but i did fix it by just searching for them and deleting each one.
