when I go to safe mode and hit repair computer they say I have to use a dvd and hit repair. my dvd does not have repair on it I have trouble with startup I do not know how to use the dvd if it has no repair listed

Boot your PC with the Win 7 disk in the drive. You should see an option for repair. Choose that.

All windows 7 install dvds have the ability to run repair functions.

When in the dvd enter language select next. When in the install page click repair now in the lower left corner.

This is because you are running the disk from the OS and not booting it. How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD shows how.

You can also tap the F key given on first screen for Boot Menu to trigger DVD drive. Do you get the prompt to Press Any Key to boot disk? If not your disk may not be burned correctly. Where did you get it.

Once you boot the DVD it will always offer Repair My Computer on second screen.

you can always create a system repair disc from the maintenance folder in all programs.

if you hold down f8 (regardless of whether you have a repair or installation disc) and a menu appears it should say startup recovery, system restore, command prompt, memory diagnostic;etc. fire up the command prompt and hit DIR to see what's available in the directory and try to use the automatic system startup repair tool on the menu.
