Solved Sticking with with Windows 7 for now.

I can't seem to get the background images like I wanted, I know you can modify High contrast theme for lower contrast but not totally. Also Start Menu I don't see it like windows 7 in Windows 10 preview. I even installed ClassicShellSetup_4_0_4 to use the windows 7 old style start menu. I really don't know how to explain this, but the default start menu in windows 10 preview doesn't look like Windows 7 start menu. To me it looks like Microsoft shrunk the metro screen and put it on the start menu and made an apps link. I still will play around with it, but my main operating system will be windows 7 for now.



Here is what I would miss in Windows 10.

I like the classic theme more than Aero too, and the dark background for windows is great when you use the computer for long periods! That hasn't changed in 10, neither 8 had those.
And about the gray background, you can use it with Aero, but a few buggy applications (notably Windows Explorer itself) will happily ignore it and stick with white. I think that bug has been introduced in Vista and still present in Win10.

I still have to see if the new Windows has anything really worth for an upgrade, otherwise 7 will live for soooo long . As for now, Win10 is a mere service pack 2 for Win8.

That wasn't the meaning of my original post. I basically meant I am staying with windows 7 and going to play with windows 10 but basically not much longer. Another words I will still be around in the Windows 7 forum because I will using windows 7 more without 10 installed. Since you are mod, you can see I have been posting from both 7 & 10 operating system. That image posted is from Windows 7.

I think that Ztruker meant that someone on TenForums might be able to advise you of workarounds for the issues you describe.

I don't like the "Diamond White" themes of W10TP either.

Sorry, did not mean to imply you should do anything, just mentioned there is a Win 10 forum which is very active right now.

Also, I'm not a Mod, just an old guy who hangs out here
