Still Need Drivers For Conexant ac'97

Have HP Zd8000 Laptop with a conexant ac'97 sound chip I am running Windows 7 x64 Pro. I have no sound I have been trying
all kinds of drivers and still no sound. Has anyone found a fix or a work around for this problem yet. HELP!!!!!

Try this trick with your 64 bit drivers.

Download the HP Compaq nx6125 Notebook PC*-* Conexant AC97 Audio Driver for Microsoft Vista (32-bit) - HP Business Support Center (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=471753&prodNameId=471756&swEnvOID=2096&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-47262-1). Extract but dont install. Go to c:\swsetup and rename the 2 files: camc6aud.sys and camc6hal.sys to camcaud.sys and camchal.sys (in short, remove the 6 from the filename) and copy them to c:\windows\system32\drivers\ and restart the laptop.

Have you tried this? Business support forums - 64Bit Win7 AC97 Audio driver??

If this fails, I think you're out of luck. I've noticed you have posted this same question in other threads. Ever heard of "flogging a dead horse"?
