Strange 64bit Windows 7 problem

Update

Hi Again
Today i tried to create the boot disk from the software and it said it had done it but when i try to boot from the usb pen it says operating system not found.

I have managed to borrow a 200GB usb HDD so i can backup the image when its mounted in windows.
Also i have a usb pen now with windows xp lite installed on it so my thought was why not backup the image and boot to xp lite and install easeus and try and recover the c: partition.

What do you think?

Definitely try it. You will eventually find a way to do it. Obviously, in an ideal situation, the OEM recovery would work! But it obviously does not.

I have done things like this a few times, mainly using "Trial and error" and "Flying by the seat of my pants" as it were. It is more difficult if you don't know exactly what is going on. All you can do is persevere and hope that one of the methods works.

All attempts to recover the windows backup image failed so i have called toshiba and they are sending me some recovery cd's out in the post, I will post back when i receive them and let you know if recovering the os resolves the original issue.

Hi Again

Just a quick update received the recovery dvd from toshiba and sourced a usb dvd and reinstalled to factory settings, this resolved the issue.
Very strange this one all I can guess is that the machine was infected and it was affecting the 32bit windows stuff only.
Thanks for all the help and advice great forum and would highly recommend

Mark
