Hi,
I'm new here and I'm not sure if this is the right forum.
Anyhow I found one of old folders with strange content inside. Every folder and file inside have strange name (not assigned by me) and I can't delete these files because I get warning that there is a wrong name of the file, and I can't change the name because there is wrong name of the file.

On this image you can see strange names and a warning (in Polish) after I tried to delete a file. This is standard warning which says "Name of the file is wrong or too long. Choose different file name." When I try to change the name I get the same warning. There are some strange dates as well.
I don't know what to do whit this. Please help :)

That looks like a certain threat I know that used to do this. I also know that windows 7 has a bug that no one is sure of the cause that can also cause this behavior.

As for forcing a delete of those objects there are several ways.

This is one: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/79699-undeletable-file-delete.html

There is software that can do it called unlocker. As well as malwarebytes fileassassin, and superantispyware.

You can use a linux live cd to do it.

There are multiple ways, but those are the most popular.

For the possible malware issue:

Please read this entirely before we begin malware removal:

Before we start with malware assistance, I want to inform you of a few things:

1.) I am not a recognized malware removal expert. I do not have a certification from a malware removal school. Having said that, I have removed a lot of malware with PCs and have years of experience.
But just like no antivirus program is 100% effective, neither am I. My goal is to simply clean up your PC from any malware, and assist you in any way possible to help you secure your PC.

2.) Sevenforums (This forum)and I will NOT be held responsible for anything that might go wrong with your pc.

3.) You agree to follow all directions given, until I advise that your pc is clean and you are free of threats. You will not abandon the thread.

The most important rule of all:

4.) YOU WILL NOT INSTALL/change/modify OR ADD ANYTHING TO YOUR SYSTEM UNTIL MALWARE REMOVAL IS COMPLETE. No files or programs or anything of the sort.

Do you agree to these terms?

If yes, reply with a Yes. If not, please state so and I will flag an official malware remover, or I will recommend another place for malware removal assistance.

Your awesome for reading this.
Hi andrew, thank you for answer:)
I've tried Unlocker and didn't find anything holding these files. It didn't manage to delete them.
The same with fileassassin and superantispyware. They both said that this is a wrong name and cant delete it.
I'll have to try linux live cd now, maybe Knoppix distribution will help me.

Ok :) , Linux disk should be able to take care of them. Then if you like you can agree to the terms and we can look into the (possible) malware removal part.

I'm fighting with Knoppix, I'm not very good with linux OS so it's going slow and have no result yet. Deleting files as root user didn't work.
I'm starting to consider formating the drive with broken files.
Could You please tell me something more about that "malware removal"? Is it complicated or does it require some cleaning software, etc.

In short, I give you steps to follow and if we find malware I give you directions how to remove it.

Try ubuntu or something more popular (and easier to use) instead and see if that allows deletion.

If you really want to be sure your clean, you can always format :) Then do all windows updates and install your antivirus software. Scan your backup, Then restore your backup.
