Hi Guys, firstly sorry if I have posted this in the wrong area and should have posted it in the Security Section.

I have recently noticed a strange mouse behaviour. It is pretty common but doesn't happen always.

Here is what happens: if I click a folder or file it may double click. If I try to drag a folder somewhere it will not do anything and require me to do it again or open the folder. Clicks don't actually click. Renaming files by double clicking from a single click. Highlight field/box takes up to 3 times to actually appear. Selecting more than one file and deselecting only selects the far right selection.

Things I have tried:
Uninstalling and Updating the Mouse Driver from both Safe Mode and Normal Mode.
Going to Control Panel and then Mouse looking at the settings.
Plugging the mouse in a different USB Port
Going to the Folder Options and resettings any modified mouse settings.

Things I am going to try.
Use a different mouse
Full Scan with Malwarebytes and MSE.

I did download a new cursor set, but it wasn't from a terrible site like cursormania but actually deviantart, so I don't think that was bad. I also did change my Dead Space Mouse Settings, but since that isn't even open (or though Processes on Task Manager), I don't know how that could have affected it.

Good luck, I'm in the same boat.

People have NO idea how maddening this can be.
Every time you page back, you're taken 2 pages back, then two pages forward.
If you try and highlight multiple files to move...it opens all the files, again and again and again.
Then when you are patiently closing the files you close the drive you were working with and have to start all over, which just repeats the process. Basically, it's like playing bullet chess...with a pair of pot holder mittens on.

Everything you do takes 5 times as long, if it ever gets done at all.
Wondering if anyone else found an answer. BUMP.

Thanks.

For me the problem is now resolved, good luck on getting it fixed. I did nothing and waited about a week it resolved.

I'm thinking hardware problem with the mouse button. Piece of dirt/dust in a bad spot -- falls away and it works again. Or the button is permanently damaged.

Try a different mouse?
