Strange printer issue can you help me out?

Hi everyone

Just wondered if you could help me out with a strange printer problem i seem to be having. I have just setup my parents new machine so i have set myself up with the normal admin account. I installed there lexmark printer and i can print from word and print emails out and web pages no problem. I have set both my parents up with a standard account each and they to can print documents from work no problem by selecting the lexmark printer from the drop down menu but for some reason they cant print web pages or web based emails. When you try to print all that is avaliable is the XPS document printer thing, any ideas why they cant print from the web to this printer?

You don't say what printer it is, other than just Lexmark but if when you go to File then Print in any program if the printer software is properly installed it should show up in the drop down menu. Have you got it set as the default printer. Go to Control panel, Devices and printers, right click on the printer concerned and select "Set as default printer"

Hi mate, i cant remember the exact model of the printer off the top of my head but i think its a 2500 series printer. Its definatly installed fine as they can print documents with no issues at all it just when trying to print from the web the only printer in the dop down menu is the xps document option. I have manually set the printer to default as the xps one for some reason was set as the default for them but still it would not show up. Mind you i didnt reboot the machine after i changed the default printer but i should have to should i for it to take affect?

One other thing they can do is copy what they want to print on a web page by highlighting the text, then right click and choose 'print' in the menu.
