Solved Strange tray icon behavior

The network icon that normally appears next to the date and time has disappeared on a computer. Additionally, when you expand the tray area to view all icons, this huge bloated but empty box appears that will shrink as you mouse around inside of it. Anyone seen this or know where to start? No viruses are showing up from scans.

You might see if resetting the notification area icons may help.

If not, then you might see if checking the Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar box, apply, uncheck it, and apply may toggle it to display properly again.

Showing all notification was the first thing I tried, resulting in the same number of bogus blank icons to show up, just horizontally. I didn't know windows made scroll bars for this! Anyway the reset tray area batch file worked. Thanks for the handy batch file Brink!
