This is a long-shot but I'm driven to it through desperation.
Using a wi-fi (usb modem) at 3G (4G not installed on local tower yet).
The device indicates a strong signal as does the iPhone which uses the same network
however speeds are so slow that during the day I can't open a webpage with a single click & it often not possible to send or receive an email.
As there is no alternative I have to grind my teeth but after over a year it's disheartening and I am now cautious about logging into sites which I must log out of (eg bank) because I've been caught unable to log out.
The long-shot question is this:
has anyone a suggestion as to what I might check to ensure that it's not some setting in the laptop which is causing this very slow speed? I've checked the Firewall (ie turned it off and tested speed then compared with it turned on ... no difference)
