Stuck at 1280 x 1024 Resolution

Hello Folks

Im trying to reach 1920 x 1080 resolution again, as before I was using Windows XP I was able to do this and it was fantastic.

Recently ive switched OS to Windows 7(64 bit) All in all im very impressed with this OS except for this issue.

Ive searched and searched for a solution to my problem, I'm about to give up but i thought id give it one last shot and express my problem in as much detail as I can.

CPU - AMD Athlon64 4000+
GPU - GeForce GTS 250 1gb
Screen - 26" LG HDTV - Model NO: 26LG3050
DVI connection

Adapter Information

Chip Type: GeForce GTS 250
Dac Type: Integrated RAMDAM
Bios Information: Version 62.92.7d.0.20

The highest Resolution I can see in the settings is 1600 x 1200 (this doesnt look nice )

So i'm having to stick at 1280 x 1024.

1920 x 1080 res is reachable with my monitor, but I have ran out of ideas on how to adress this issue, i dont know if its a driver issue or Windows 7, though the problem accured only after i had installed Windows 7

Hope the General Discussion boards doesnt mind me posting this topic here, i couldnt see a better suited place.

Hey Jacee, Could you point me in the right direction as to where i can find this option please ? Also it sounds like what it say's but im actually trying to increase my screen reolution, I had the luxory of being able to open 2 full sized webpages side by side, this also worked for programs ect.

To get to where you want to reduce the font size, just type in font into the searchbox and it will be at the top of the menu. Font, click it and at the top left, Change Font size.

Hi, the specs for you screen mention only 1366 x 768 are you sure you could reach 1920 x 1080 before.

Try making a custom resolution in the nVidia control panel, I can't think of anything else. You can find the nVidia control panel in the Windows control panel (gee, never thought of searching for it there :roflmao

Edit - According to the specs, he shouldn't have been able to use 1920x1080 in XP as well.

You should try the newer 195.55 Nvidia drivers. The 191.07's had many problems associated with them.

The resolution you need should be right in the Nvidia control panel.

I believe the other suggestions are correct, your Plasma TV model only supports 1366X768 according to the manufacture's specs.

I am 100& certain my monitor supports it, I remember being overwhelmed when i could search for high resolution desktop backgrounds, I also have this screenshot from when i was using Windows XP

Those new drivers simply did it, I dont know how you came across those drivers because when i searched for the latest drivers they were not there

I cannot thank you enough, thank you to all who took the time to help, im overwhelemd again.

Quick note: I also google'd my TV's model number and got the same resolution results as you all.. However I do remember when i brought the TV there was another model that was exacly the same (In looks to)
I'm sorry for any confusion and aragance, I was mearly annoyed that I couldnt figure this problem out.
